TL;DR (Canada)
When we send commercial electronic messages (email, SMS) to recipients in Canada, we comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): we send with consent, identify ourselves, and give you an easy way to unsubscribe. This complements our SMS & Communications Policy (which also covers U.S. CAN-SPAM and TCPA).
1. Consent
We send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) only with express or implied consent as defined by CASL. Express consent is obtained when you opt in (for example, request a quote or subscribe). Implied consent may apply from an existing business relationship, within the periods CASL allows.
2. Identification
Every CEM identifies the sending Interlock entity and includes valid contact information (a mailing address and an email, phone, or URL) valid for at least 60 days.
3. Unsubscribe
Every CEM includes a working unsubscribe mechanism (an email link, or reply STOP for SMS) processed within 10 business days, at no cost to you.
4. Records
We maintain records of consent and unsubscribe requests as evidence of compliance.
5. Relationship to U.S. Law
For U.S. recipients, email is governed by CAN-SPAM and text messaging by the TCPA (see our SMS & Communications Policy). Where multiple laws apply, we follow the stricter standard.
